We are familiar with counseling in a consulting room where the therapist is physically present during the psychotherapeutical process.

Online counseling allows the person/s to receive counseling / psychotherapy / guidance via internet on your computer / smart device, in a private space of your choice. Active counseling still takes place as you interact with me visually and auditory. Enjoy this enriching experience.

I use Zoom where privacy and confidentiality (as is the case in a counseling room) is a priority. You need Good Internet Connectoin, as well as a computer / laptop (with a camera and microphone) / tablet / smartphone. Zoom needs to be downloaded to ensure a session/s.

Such families have a good chance to provide society with psychologically balanced – and productive people. Parents would like to believe that their families are well adjusted and try their best to provide physical – and emotional security to the benefit of the family.

Sometimes members within a family may become distressed and / or present problematic behaviour that has a negative influence on family functioning.

Family Therapy deals with members, guiding them structurally and systematically to understand their own dynamics and the influences that it may have on other members. Members are also guided towards more empathy and supporting one another (sometimes strategically).

Depression and anxiety are successfully treated by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) where the person is helped to gain a more effective and realistic perspective about his / her thinking of the self and the world out there. It is of the utmost importance to have the necessary coping-skills and still experience the joy that life offers.

Stress is a given in our day-to-day life for most people. Not being able to manage stress effectively, may lead to heart disease and high blood pressure and contribute to depression, anxiety, anger and other mood disorders.

Stress management counseling assists persons to help get to know themselves better and is guided to deal with stress according to their unique inner-strength. Awareness is an important aspect which is emphasised in counseling so as to empower the person to take control of his / her inner-strength to manage to manage stress effectively.

A healthy self image is necessary which enables the person to believe in himself that he / she will succeed in the journey to happiness and success. Persons will also understand that motivation is part of one’s inner-strength, rather than provided by external realities.

Behaviour problems like acting-out behaviour, many a time seems to be a symptom of a deep rooted problem.

For instance acting-out behaviour at school may indicate (through psychotherapy) that the child may experience personal problems at home (tension between family members).

It is important to be sensitive towards our loved ones to try and pick up if/when the person behaves differently to that what they are used and make sure that it is seen to.

Psychotherapy can assist with behaviour problems and guide the people to cope with their reality; more so if their work-, family- or other systems are influenced by it.

This serves the purpose of making people aware of their reality and trying to motivate people to be alert and careful as well. We are not immune to reality and are therefore sometimes exposed to the above mentioned. It is traumatic for us and has a serious effect on our mental health.

It would be fair to assume that not all people have coping-skills or might have developed habits that are conducive to their physical / psychological health.

It is a fact that people who are addicted to some or another substance are not the only ones who suffer. Their loved ones (friends and family members) are also influenced emotionally and psychologically.

Psychotherapy helps to provide coping-skills to people with addiction problems and empower them to draw on their inner-strength to deal with life and it’s responsibilities in a productive and effective way. Eating disorders are usually characterized by abnormal eating patterns and / or unusual behaviour around eating, due to emotional factors.

Well known eating disorders are Anorexia Nervosa (severe loss of appetite) and Bulimia Nervosa (binge eating) and usually begins round about the teenage years. It seems to be more common among women than men. Needless to say that people with eating disorders can benefit from psychotherapy. Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is seen by many practitioners as en affective way to treat persons with eating disorders. Insight also needs to be established with such a person and guiding the person to deal with emotional problems more effectively.

It is a well-known fact that divorce is seen, second to death, as a traumatic experience when people are confronted by it.

It's a loss for both partners and they experience deep emotions during and after the divorce process. Many times children are involved and both parents still need to carry on with their responsibilities towards them.

Divorce counseling guides people to focus on a more productive relationship between divorcees by helping them become less emotionally involved with one another.
